The book, Conversational Informational Seeking, authored by CIIR Associate Director and Assistant Professor Hamed Zamani, Johanne R. Trippas of RMIT, CIIR Ph.D. alum Jeff Dalton of the University of Edinburgh, and Filip Radlinski of Google Research UK, was released by now publishers, inc. in August 2023. According to the publishers, the monograph "provides a thorough overview of conversational information seeking (CIS) definitions, applications, interactions, interfaces, design, implementation, and evaluation." Their aim is to "provide an overview of past research related to CIS, introduce the current state-of-the-art in CIS, highlight the challenges still being faced in the community, and suggest future directions."
