Writing Fellowships Awarded to CIIR Doctoral Students

Four CIIR doctoral students, Zhiqi Huang, Youngwoo Kim, Yen-Chieh Lien, and Puxuan Yu, received Spring 2024 Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences Dissertation Writing Fellowships. Zhiqi, Youngwoo, and Puxuan are advised by Professor James Allan, CIIR Director, and Yen-Chieh is advised by Assistant Professor Hamed Zamani, CIIR Associate Director.

According to the College, students who are nearing completion of their dissertation writing are nominated for the dissertation fellowship based on the strength of their dissertations and its significance to computing theory and practice. Dissertation Fellowship recipients receive a stipend to focus on their writing as they near their dissertation defense and graduation dates.
